LEED for Schools Committee

GT.jpg

Mission:

The mission of the LEED for Schools Advocacy Group is to encourage school districts within the chapter’s geographic region to build green schools.  We will educate the districts about benefits of green schools; facilities that create a healthy environment that is conducive to learning while saving energy, resources, and money.  We will support district’s once they have chosen to build green schools to insure long-term success and commitment.

Goals:
  • Increase volunteer participation in the Advocacy Group; we currently have 4 members.
  • Increase Advocacy Group’s visibility to school districts as an TS.jpginformation resource.
  • Provide a forum for school districts to present their findings and accomplishments and share best practices.
  • Build grass roots support via Parent Teacher Associations, etc.

Additional information on green schools can be found at the
USGBC Green Schools website.
