LEED 101: Green Building Basics & LEED

This workshop is intended for those who are new to green building and looking to learn the basics of green building and LEED. The workshop offers an introduction to USGBC, green building principles and fundamentals of the LEED Rating System. You will leave this course with a basic understanding of the intent, concepts and terms for each LEED credit category, as well as green building best practices, regulations and incentives.

ID+C 301: Implementing the Interior Design  + Construction LEED Rating System


Formerly: Green Interior Design + Construction: The LEED Implementation Process --- CEU: 7 hours

Learn how to apply the LEED for Commercial Interiors rating system to a real project by walking through the phases of a typical project and the key decisions that project teams must make, including key stakeholder considerations. Engage with experienced LEED® Faculty and other participants in interactive activities using case examples that enable you to work hands-on with LEED implementation strategies and rating system tools, including project forms from LEED Online v3.

This course will be held: 09/06/2010 - 10/29/2010

This course is intended for anyone who wants more than basic understanding of sustainability, green building concepts and the USGBC Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System# , including those with a stake in their company's building practices, those directly involved in green building projects, and those pursuing GBCI's LEED Green Associate professional credential. 
 Discussion groups and interactive activities throughout the course keep you engaged and reinforce what you've learned. The course will wrap up with a review and preparation to sit for the LEED Green Associate exam.

The course includes:

  • Two USGBC publications: "Green Assoc. Study Guide" and "Green Buildings and LEED Core Concepts Guide"
  • Study activities and practice exam questions to prepare for the LEED Green Assoc.
  • Discussions facilitated by trained and experienced LEED Faculty who are LEED Accredited Professionals with years of experience in LEED and green building
