Come learn (and discuss) how to meet the LEED for Existing Buildings pre-requisites with a focus on Energy Star. LEED is a hot, and sometimes confusing, topic for building owners, managers, and operators and this special meeting will focus on the 9 pre-requisites required for LEED Certification and what is needed to meet them. There will also be a special focus on Energy Star.
The LEED EB pre-requisite subjects of discussion are as follows:• Water Efficiency (WE) pre-requisite (p) 1 – Minimum Indoor Plumbing Fixture and Fitting Efficiency
• Energy & Atmosphere (EA) p1 – Energy Efficient Best Management Practices – Planning, Documentation, and Opportunity Assessment
• EAp2 – Minimum Energy Efficiency Performance (Energy Star)
• EAp3 – Fundamental Refrigerant Management
• Materials & Resources (MR) p1 – Sustainable Purchasing Policy
• MRp2 – Solid Waste Management Policy
• Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) p1 – Minimum Indoor Air Quality Performance
• IEQp2 – Environmental Tobacco Smoke (ETS) Control
• IEQp3 – Green Cleaning Policy
The speakers, Bryan Lauer and Don Herrmann, are both members of the Existing Building (EB) Committee of the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter (FGCC) of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). Bryan work for CLW Real Estate Services Group specializing in LEED Certification for Existing Buildings, Tenant Representation and Property Management. Don owns D.C. Herrmann & Associates specializing in Building Commissioning, Energy Star, and Indoor Air Quality assessments.
